Affiliate Experiment Math

Hello. Part of my entropic journey is realizing what my strengths are. And leveraging them over the challenges I face.

This was created to motivate myself to go out and sell my services. One thing that is still out for debate as to helpful or harmful is my inability to ask someone I work with to do something I wouldn't do.

Now I know I am not the greatest at sales, but I am decent at helping folk find solutions. The pieces I struggle with are taking a yes when I feel I haven't conveyed all the necessary details needed for the customer to make a desicion, but I am learning this little voice in the back of my head is not accounting for the business knowledge my clients already have. Some assumptions are reasonable and the way in which I lay out proposals, reporting and invoicing should alleviate these ambiguity concerns.

So, I am working on an Experiment which I will first try on myself to flesh out these core concerns, if even one piece doesn't meet my standards I won't ask anyone else to join the Experiment. 

But the details are laid out so anyone reading this can question what can usually be ridiculous expectations of myself or choose for themselves to throw in their hat to help me develop an equitable affiliate platform.

Mission

I have a theory, that a different kind of humble business van be crafted which does not solely rely on money to fix problems. I am building a solution focused collaborative environment. Which is admittedly difficult to do with low resources.

Proposal

So instead of driving myself nuts looking for non-monetary based solutions, I am expiramenting with expanding my circle of support to a few strangers who may become a part of this entropic family in the longterm. I hope I choose wisely as character judgements have not been my strong suit in the past. But part of that is due to giving folk the benefit of the doubt.

So here's my affiliate program proposal:

I teach 2 salesfolk how to become Web Wranglers, module by module which I create on a weekly basis to educate them in what they need to know to promote entropic Kreations and eventually build custom small business marketing and operations systems to sell to small businesses local to them and by video.

While we are building it, this program costs all of us together the cost of creating it. When we have completed the program and ironed out the kinks the 2 folks that helped me create it will have another opportunity to join the program as employed trainers or can resell the program to be their own boss without paying the licensing fees. Of course this only works if it is successful enough that the program pays for itself.

Here's my initial thoughts on benefits and structure

Non Employee Compensation - reported to IRS and taxable

Cost of affiliate program maintenance divided by number if affiliates deducted from Billed Solutions - minus the cost of service fulfillment. 

*If payment is taken outside of brand's payment portal and entropic Kreations reputation was used to land the sale affiliate will be in breach of contract and prosecuted for theft.

People create their own companies all the time, if you want to use this program to get some progress and take off as soon as you are stable enough to run your own company, I encourage it, with notice. I'll even help you transition and offer assistance where possible as long as theft does not occur before the request is made.

Social Media Mid Tier Package

This exampl Affiliate's Revenue = $400 for 12 hours work. Which appears to be $33/hour before taxes.

Taxes estimate

Assuming this is a side hustle and affiliate has a job making $45k/yr and Wrangles 3 client's social media services for a year. This affiliate will bring in 4800 before taxes. $6000 affiliate fees deducted will show on irs report. For total gross income received at $10800 If receipts are tracked for cell phone and mileage (1 visit per client per month 10 miles) for freelance related expenses. Cellular bill $50/mo for the line. 12 hours/682= 2% of bill is a tax write off ($1) + ((30mi x 0.62)x12)=$223.20. Business lunches 50% deductible, except alcohol. 36 meals at $40=$1440x50%=$720. And licensing fee $250x12=3000. Total oversimplified self employed tax deduction = $944. 45000+10800-6944=$48,856 which puts this example in the 22% taxable income category.

Meant to be deducted from earnings. If the structure does not work, may have to re-think options. No money coming in - nothing owed, but also nothing paid.

Comparison with company assets usage in exchange for a slightly higher affiliate deduction, based on assets opted in for. 

Would likely only make sense for 40 hours/mo+ with 10+ clients

Used lowest margin as example 5 affiliate minimum to cover shared costs within reason.

Provided cell phone and reimbursed mileage & business expenses.

KPI minimum of $2500 billable profit must be met monthly to qualify for this option. Maximum perks increases by sales tiers unlocked.

Decreases take home earnings, but no bills and decreases tax burden slightly - consult tax professional.

In this example the affiliate gains agency level control over their professional brand. If $300 per social media package feels like too low of a margin for your effort,  you could make a play to your client for $400 labor instead. The only stipulation is you must be effervescent with your client when representing the Web Wrangler and Self Promotify services. You must provide an itemized invoice of all services (external and internal) performed as well as a traffic and engagement report. You must also meet in person with your local clients monthly, and offer by zoom virtually 1-2 times per month.

For all clients each Wrangling task should be able to be completed in 20 minute increments. Estimate high when starting out to allow clients to  budget their time and money wisely.

Standards

Does the effort put in for the compensation make sense?

A - Can a person working to survive pick up such a program to eventually thrive? 

B - Is it scalable? 

Can I use the program myself and then transition more into a support role to help future Wranglers?

Can affiliates develope into employees that feel supported and want to build a good community for neuroDiverse as much as I do?

Not a standard, but a future vision

Can this evolve into an actual supported community contributed to by partner employees? An employee owned revolutionary business?

Health, Travel, Food, Housing crafted and delivered and maintained within the community? Purchased in bulk, processed & delivered. Equitable Upkeep deducted from pay. Likeca commute without the cult like ickiness of narcisim and free will manipulation. Just people who enjoy working together who want a safe space to live and work without having to kill ourselves for the pleasure of simple survival. Inspired partially by job corps with less government and corporate implications.
