Iteration 5
"Who are you?"When a manager is asking in an interview, they are trying to get a sense of how easy it will be to mould you into their perfect employee. When a stranger on the street, or rather online, asks, it could be derogatory because you've transgressed on their values in some way. Or they may also be looking for ways to mould you into their agenda.
An identity is not a firm skin. Everyone has the ability to adapt to the circumstances before them. However, when this is done too often, your skin or base identity could be lost altogether. Thankfully there are ways to grab hold of little anchors or roots and remember who we are. Lion King reference, anyone? Much like a snake or parrot, we molt these traits as we find others that suit us more as time goes on.
What do you believe goes into this very simple question?
1) How do you define yourself?
2) Who would you be at your core without external influence?
Mull that over for a few minutes, maybe scratch some notes down on real paper before reading on.
The Basics - Go ahead and list them out on a sheet of paper / Notion / xTiles
Physical Traits - Physical Description
Genetics - Health, Diagnosis, Family Diseases
Biology - Born Fem/Masc
Gender - There are more than 2. Not everyone feels at peace being associated with "women" or "men". The idea of this inhospitable notion of earning your place in society as a pre-determined gender based on the bodily functions of a person can be incredibly limiting. For some it may be the core choice that has been taken from them from the beginning.
Gender dysphoria occurs when how other folks see and refer to you does not line up with how you feel, which in itself is setting you up for failure. Our society is becoming more educated, but wanting be seen by the blind is a losing proposition.
If gender is a point of discontent - your people are out there, but you have to accept yourself first to be able to see them.
Language/Culture
Sexuality
Location
Familial Titles
3) How do you feel these things define you?
4) What beliefs have you associated with these traits?
5) Where do those beliefs originate from?
6) Do you want to feel a different way about them?
On a separate page write down the things that ARE TRUE
Cross out the things that ARE FALSE
Is there anything left over? Move those items to a '?' question page to mull over.
Now you have the system set up, you can go as far and as deep as you wish.
Here are a few other points of definement:
Try to stick to describing yourself for this first round.
On a second pass move to favorites. Separate these into want and yeet (distance or rid yourself of)
Actions - Recent actions, proud of, ashamed of
Skills - Home, Finance, Cooking, Vocation, Art, Communication
Feelings - Tastes, Textures, Smells, Colors, Emotions, Sounds
Career - Vocation, Calling, Project
Wealth - Money, Energy, Time, Love
Values, - How you prioritize, what you avoid
Media - Music, Movies, Books, Designs, Games, etc..
Attraction - Define external interactions. Think of 2-3 instances in your history, for each piece.
Analyze your attraction and reasoning.
Rate helpfulness. 1-10 of repeating these interactions. 1-results in misery, 10-results in progress/happy
Who you gravitate towards
Who is credible or trustworthy
How you determine what is credible information
Friends
Romantic Relationships
Limits...................................Desires
On another page write a plot line. Limits on one end, Desires on the other.
Now you are ready to define what you want and the playground you have at your disposal.
Duplicate as many times as needed for each Category (Value, Goal, etc..)
Family
Wellbeing
Other item from one of your pages
Wrap it all up together. Do you have a clearer understanding of who you are?
I am ... physical 'uncontrollable' decriptors.
I value ... and I do not value ...
My favorites are ... because ...
My greatest desires are ...
This limiting playground, [ ], which I choose to hang out in defines me so far, but I am moving towards the next sandbox.

Iterations that went into this post
Current Personal & Business Revelations:
I have ADHD. I am Neuro-Divergent.
Ah, isn't that better. Now we can move forward!
All of my previous business model attempts were made with the pressures of trying to conform and keep up, but you know what? I really don't care.
I never have - except for after working for an Automotive Dealership
All of these learned dysfunctions, that I have had such a horrid time shaking off. But now that I have, I can find my true audience and get reacquainted with who I really am.
And that begins with an alignment check
(an automotive word I know, but I do like some things)
- How to Draw an Identity -
by entropic Kat
Summary:
This came out of a time when I personally felt inconceivably lost.
An Identity Overhaul was the result, and I believe this practice could be fairly useful.
So, If you have been feeling lost yourself, perhaps you need to draw an updated version of your identity. Follow along and fill out the worksheet for yourself.
There are __ Parts to Crafting an Identity
Crafting a Destiny
**Limitations - Resources - Go/Break Points
Characteristics - Values - Perceptions - Reasoning
Behavioral Change: Intake, Thought Discipline, Action - Method Slow and Fast Act
Identity
- Lifestyle - Genetics - Actions (Mould)
Desires
Limits
In order to define the other two pieces of a destiny one must first begin with knowing who the request is being made for. Think of it like putting in an order for building a house. There are so many options, it's so easy to lose track of your original plan as soon as you walk into a building supply store.
The same is true in life. If you have a plan written down before entering life, you're more likely to not buy stuff for a life you can't afford.
Lifestyle inflation is the biggest culprit in unhappiness
This model can also be used for Professional Coaching and Development and Brand Development.
What do you think of when you are asked the question, "Who are you?"
